ABOUT the Artist

Hi, I'm Sarah, the creative mind behind the brush.

I live in a small town in central Minnesota with my husband, 2 kids, and my dog Hazel.

Ever since I was a small child, I have loved to draw and be creative. Whether that was crafting with my mom, learning to sew, drawing, or painting - I was all for it!

Throughout my school years I continued to learn and grow by being involved in activities that allowed me to be creative. I began my college years taking some basic art classes while dabbling in Graphic Design. Ultimately, I switched majors and graduated with a degree in Apparel Design from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. My first job in that industry taught me so much and gave me confidence in the skills that I had learned. 

After starting a family and living life a little, I felt a pull to get back to my artistic roots. With a supportive family behind me, I made the decision to start my own creative business. In 2009 I opened a shop on etsy where I created hand-lettered signs, crafts, and sewing projects. As I began to make more time for art again, painting and creating was my "me-time"- a way to feed my soul aside from the hustle of motherhood. In 2019 I decided to move away from signs and focus on my passion for acrylic painting which led me to creating my own website. 

Along with my faith, art feeds my soul and continues to teach me many things about myself. I truly believe that each one of us has been given unique talents with passions to follow, and I hope to encourage others to follow their hearts and believe in their abilities.
